When we first visited the house that we ultimately bought, we knew it was the home for us and Megan helped us to write an offer and get into a contract with the homeowners before the home was on the market. She would respond to our phone calls, emails, and texts quickly day or night. Honestly Megan changed my families life. Like most parents with kids approaching school age, we were at a crossroads. Our neighborhood was nice, but the schools weren't great and only going down. The decision to private school or not weighed heavily upon us. Being all but under water in our existing home, we thought we had no options. Megan worked with us to crunch the numbers, figure out the options, our prioritized goals, helped us figure out what we should do. We ultimately used Megan to sell our home and buy our new one. It is worth describing both experiences in detail because they go to show she really is the full Realtor package.We were very worried about selling our home as we close to underwater depending on the market. The market really was heating up, and Megan had a good sense of the (lack of) inventory and helped us decide to strike as quick as we could. In the matter of days she helped us figure out what needed to be done to get the house ready, helped us find contractors, and even a stager. In the end we felt like the stager wasn’t worth the money and Megan herself stepped in. Instead of “renting” staging stuff from a stager, we used the same money to buy stuff Megan picked out to make our home look beautiful. We got so many comments on how great our staged house looked, and all the beautiful stuff is now residing in my current house. After an open house with countless people, we had 5+ offers. You would think it is easy smooth sailing at that point, but they all had their own risks and we were completely lost on which offer to go with and how to maximize benefit and limit risk. After a couple of counters, we accepted an offer thanks to Megan’s intuition and guidance. Ultimately the buyers were awesome, Megan was right. In the end we got 20k over asking, accepted an offer within a week (after multiple counters)With the pending sale behind us we now had to figure out where to go. We didn’t have a lot of down (thanks to being a wash on the sale) so our options were limited. We had a rough idea on the areas we were open to. Megan had lots of insights about the areas and most importantly which were great for us and our goals around school. We settled on an area which is amazing in every way (so amazing I want to keep it a hidden gem!..you’ll have to ask Megan). We went all over the map in the area with Megan looking at countless homes. It was so refreshing to be able to get Megan’s honest opinion about what worked for us, what was a good value versus not. Ultimately we liked one house, which Megan suspected was a very tough transaction. Ultimately it was very tough, but Megan in knowing how perfect this house was for us spent countless hours making it happen. Megan has an amazing knack and intuition for knowing what parts of the deal are flexible and helping to navigate those waters.Also worth calling out that there are so many bonuses she provides which I just have not seen other Realtor’s provide. She is amazing in things like staging, decorating, painting etc, and she also has fully embraced technology and all of the modern tools and data sources to help give her the edge.In the end everyone has a Realtor to recommend, as do I. Planning a move to another state, while leaving behind a home that needed to be sold, is extremely stressful, not to mention emotional. Last year we were a growing young family looking to purchase our first home. Being this was our first time buying a home and with a baby soon on the way, we were pretty nervous about the whole thing.
